NJ Transitions Medical Cannabis Stores Into Recreational to Keep Up With the Demand

Since the recent legalization of recreational cannabis in New Jersey, on April 21, 2022, the sales of cannabis have increased massively. In just the first month, the state reported more than $24 million in recreational cannabis sales! These sales were made at 13 medical cannabis stores; however, there has been a clear need of opening up more stores.

These 13 stores were owned by Green Thumb Industries Inc., Curaleaf Holdings Inc., Verano Holdings Corp., Columbia Care Inc., Ascend Wellness Holdings Inc., and Terrascend Corp.

Three more recreational marjuana shops were set up in New Jersey just last week. There are now a total of 16 cannabis stores where New Jersey citizens can purchase adult cannabis legally. These stores will not only make up for the increasing demand, but also provide a great opportunity for growth.

Where Are the Stores Located and How Will They Help the Locals

The marijuana stores are located in Woodbridge, Union, and Eatontown. They were already operational, with the permission to sell only medical marijuana. As of now, they have transitioned from selling only to medical patients under the Garden State Dispensary brand to also selling to recreational users.

Approvals were granted last month, in May 2022. Although the transition took a while, it will help many users in the Jersey Shore communities, as residents were severely opposed to the sale of recreational cannabis in the area. Users had to drive up to 50 miles to visit a recreational marijuana store. This was also a big hassle, keeping in mind the hike in gas prices.

Even though the recreational use of marijuana was legalized well over two months ago, there were no outlets in central New Jersey where residents could purchase it. Millions of residents in this area were unable to get their hands on adult weed, but can now do the same since the three new stores have begun sales. They also no longer have to worry about getting in any sort of trouble.

As per estimations, New Jersey should become the state with third-largest contributions to overall legal cannabis sales by 2026.

However, as demand grows and more products are introduced to the cannabis market rapidly, there are high chances of prices increasing. It is speculated that consumers may have to pay a hefty price for recreational marijuana in NJ very soon.

When Did Sales Start?

Recreational sales at the cannabis stores in  Woodbridge, Union, and Eatontown began on 15th June, 2022, Wednesday at 10 AM. Now anyone above the age of 21 can walk into these stores and purchase marijauna without a medical card. However, buyers need to carry a government-issued photo ID for age confirmation.

A few extra tips for shopping at a recreational marijuana store include:

  • Present your ID at the front desk and wait for confirmation.
  • Wait for your turn to get called to the register if you have any questions to clarify, otherwise you can continue exploring the options at the store.
  • Most stores should also have the option to order online and pick up from the store.

You can then get in line and continue with the purchase just like at any other store. The state sales tax is 6.625% with additional excise and local taxes.

What Does This Mean for the Residents of N.J.?

As even the communities that were highly opposed to recreational marijuana sales begin to accept it, let’s take a look at the future of cannabis in New Jersey.

There are about 130,000 MMJ patients in NJ right now, with around 800,000 potential recreational users. This implies that these people were previously unable to get their hands on marijuana. Perhaps the reason may be that their conditions were not severe enough to qualify for a medical card.

Regardless, it is now much easier for residents of central New Jersey to get their hands on cannabis legally. This also means that they won’t have to look elsewhere and can safely purchase at cannabis stores. Doing so will also ensure that their health is not put in jeopardy.

Removing the stigma and regulations around cannabis consumption also helps innocent people stay out of trouble. In 2017, there were 37,623 arrests for marijuana possession and distribution. However, there is no clarity on how many of the accused had genuine intent of selling.

Do You Still Need a Medical Card in New Jersey to Purchase Cannabis?

If you live in an area where no recreational cannabis stores are located then you may have to get a medical card. If you want to purchase cannabis at an adult-use store, you will have to make sure the shop you visit is allowed to sell to recreational users.

However, the benefits of getting a medical card are still relevant. You can read about them in detail here.

How to Find the Best Doctor for 420 Evaluations Near Me?

Today, everyone is aware of the healing properties of marijuana. With every passing day, there’s more information about how marijuana helped heal people. Considering the rising popularity of marijuana as a medication, it makes sense that more patients are ready to use the herb for their medical conditions. But, how do you begin?

Well, if you are a citizen of the state of New Jersey, you can easily be a part of the trend and start your medical marijuana treatment. All you need is a 420 evaluations doctor who can evaluate you and write you a recommendation.

But the question remains- How do I find the best doctor for 420 evaluations near me?

Just read along and you can find a detailed answer to this question.

Why Do You Need to Consult a Doctor?

If you are a beginner, it may seem overwhelming to be surrounded by all the jargon of marijuana. Well, this is exactly why you must consult a doctor.

A marijuana doctor is trained in the field of medical cannabis and is the right source of information regarding the benefits of the herb for your medical condition. They can effectively clear your doubts and also give you the best advice.

Now, a doctor’s consultation is not only necessary for the purpose of clearing your doubts. One of the primary reasons why you need to visit a doctor is for a 420 evaluation.

The state of New Jersey has a well-established medical marijuana program that lays down the rules and regulations for every doctor and patient to follow. This includes the list of medical conditions approved for using medical marijuana, age limits, possession limits, etc. A doctor has the best knowledge of these laws and examines you during your 420 evaluation to ensure that you meet the requirements of the state laws. And they write a recommendation only after you fulfill all the necessary requirements.

How to Find a Legit Doctor?

Once you have made up your mind regarding using medical marijuana, your next step is to find a doctor who can examine your medical condition and write a recommendation for you.

So, how exactly do you find one?

There’s not a lot of effort required in finding a doctor. With a single search of ‘420 evaluations near me’, you can get a long list of options that can help you get a recommendation.

The actual effort lies in the process of making sure that the service you choose is legit and reliable. You can follow a few steps that can help you find the best doctor for your medical condition.

Consult Your Primary Physician

Before you worry about finding a right doctor, go ahead and visit your primary physician. Since your primary physician is already aware of your medical condition, they can write you a recommendation without any hassle. However, it’s not always necessary that your doctor holds amicable views on the medical potential of cannabis.

In that case, you will have to choose a new and reliable doctor who can write you a legit recommendation. In any case, it’s best to get in touch with your primary physician first. If they are not willing to give you a recommendation, they may help you with a referral.

Walk-in Clinics

If you prefer visiting a clinic for your health problems, here are a few tips that you must remember to ensure that you are not walking into a consultation with an incompetent doctor.

  • First, make sure that the time and place of the consultation match your convenience. It should be easy for you to visit the clinic.
  • Ensure that the clinic has an established history.
  • Try to find the doctor and the clinic in the state’s database.
  • Read reviews and consider asking around about the services.

We cannot ignore the fact that visiting a clinic is not the best option at the moment. Fortunately, you can also get recommendations online.

Consult Online Clinics

In the present circumstances, stepping out of the home is not safe, especially when you have a pre-existing medical condition. In that case, you can find a doctor online for your 420 evaluation.

People are often skeptical of online services. But, you can ensure that your online clinic or doctor is legit in the following ways:

Doctors Must Be Certified

Most online clinics have a team of doctors to cater to a large number of patients at a time. You need to ensure that your clinic has a team of doctors that are registered with the state and also with the medical marijuana program.

Additionally, check the qualifications and experience of the doctor. In the case of medical marijuana, you need a medical professional who has knowledge of the herb and also of its effects and uses in healthcare.

At the time of the consultation, you can ask your doctor questions about medical marijuana, its effectiveness for your condition, side effects, etc. to have a better idea of where the doctor stands in terms of his or her attitude towards the herb and also their experience as a marijuana doctor.

The Clinic Must Have a Physical Location

Online clinics offer you a virtual consultation but every legit clinic works from a real physical location. If you explore the websites, you will be able to find the address of the clinic and can use it to verify the clinic.

If the clinic does not have a verified address, you need to go looking for a different clinic. Even if you are connecting with a doctor online, ensure that they have a valid address and a valid license.

Check for Credentials Indicating Reliability

It’s true that the internet is filled with many illegitimate sources. For this reason, you need to do thorough research before settling for an online clinic.

An online clinic that works ethically will have a list of credentials as proof of its reliability. At MD Ganja, you can find such proof of reliability on the website. We offer our services through a HIPAA compliant platform ensuring that your sensitive information stays between you and your doctor. Additionally, we offer a money-back guarantee to all our patients. So, if our doctor does not approve you for a marijuana recommendation, we will give you a 100% refund.

Do not forget to read the reviews. Platforms like Yelp and Google have authentic reviews from customers which can give you an idea of the services of the clinic.

Remember It’s a Recommendation and Not a Prescription

Never fall for an online clinic or doctor offering cheap and quick marijuana prescriptions. At present, marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug under federal law and therefore is illegal. This is the reason why despite State laws differing from the view of the federal government, a doctor in New Jersey can only write you a marijuana recommendation and not a prescription.

Now that you are familiar with the important points related to finding the right doctor for 420 evaluations, it’s time you get started. Just remember to register with the state marijuana program for a medical marijuana card once you receive your physician’s recommendation.

Why Online 420 Evaluations are the Best Option Today?

Since the pandemic started, everything shifted online as a means of staying safe. Whether it’s concerts, museum tours or shopping, the preference now lies with online options. So, why not change your preference to the online method of healthcare too?

Telemedicine has been around since the 1960s but it grew in popularity after the pandemic. Knowing that the disease spreads with contact, leaving your home for a consultation may not be a good idea.

But, the good news is that if you wish to be a registered medical marijuana patient, you can get 420 evaluations online New Jersey and get the legal right to buy and use cannabis in the state. You don’t have to leave your home. Just apply online and connect with certified doctors through your phone or laptop screen.

There’s always a group of people who do not trust online services. In that case, allow me to enlighten you with the benefits of choosing online 420 evaluations in New Jersey and how to be sure that you are connecting to a legit online clinic.

Benefits of Online 420 Evaluations in New Jersey

Having a consultation with a doctor online is not very different from consulting a doctor in person. If anything, choosing to have your 420 evaluations online in New Jersey offers you benefits over visiting a doctor in person. Here’s a list of a few of them:

Quick Patient Care

If you prefer the walk-in clinics, it’s going to take you much longer than an online visit to finally get the attention you need. It starts with making a prior appointment, sparing time from your schedule, visiting the clinic or doctor and waiting in line before you can finally consult a doctor. The same is not the case with online evaluations.

All you have to do is choose your online clinic and apply for a consultation. They don’t ask you to make any prior appointments and generally connect you with a doctor as soon as you fill the prequalification form and submit it. The consultation also lasts a few minutes, before the patient receives the recommendation online.

Telemedicine sets the record for the timeliness of medical care. Patients can find the right doctor who can address their healthcare needs within minutes.

Convenient Method

It’s pretty obvious that having to consult a doctor from your living room couch or the bed is better than getting up to get ready and drive to the clinic. You are basically working for the same thing in either case, however, the former is way more convenient than the latter.

It saves you so much time, money and effort. You are getting the best healthcare services of the state at your home. The patients have access to expert guidance and can learn whether they are qualified for a medical card in New Jersey or not within minutes.

Safety

When you are consulting a doctor through your screen, you are minimizing any form of contact which can potentially risk your safety in the current state of the pandemic. After almost a year of living in the pandemic, we are very aware that it poses higher health risks for people with medical conditions.

So, if you are a medical patient seeking a healthcare solution in medical marijuana, it’s smarter to choose online 420 evaluations in New Jersey than visiting a clinic for a consultation. Because you don’t run the risk of catching the virus or anything else when visiting the clinic.

With the current level of technology, online services have become safer and more reliable. So, you can trust online clinics for a medical marijuana card.

Cost-Effective

Online consultations save you money. Most online clinics offer the best possible price that’s affordable for all. You don’t have to worry about driving all the way from your home to the clinic and can save money and time by choosing the online route.

The prices will vary depending on the state you are in as the state laws define the final price of getting a medical marijuana card.

Now, do you think that online 420 evaluations can be a better choice for you? If yes, then you can move over to the next step and learn how to ensure that your online clinic is legit and that you connect with a certified doctor only.

How to Find a Reliable Clinic for 420 Evaluations Online New Jersey?

There’s no denying that there are many online clinics that claim to provide online 420 evaluations but are no more than a scam. But, you can avoid such illegit sources easily. All you need to do is be alert and take your time to research the clinic before getting started with the evaluation.

You can begin by getting your 420 evaluation from a clinic that checks the following boxes:

A Team of Certified Doctors

The medical marijuana program of the state of New Jersey only accepts a medical marijuana recommendation that has been written by a certified doctor or osteopath.

As per the state law, the certified doctor also needs to be registered with the New Jersey Medical Marijuana Program to be able to write recommendations for patients.

So, you need to make sure that the online clinic you’ve selected has a team of certified doctors. In addition to this, remember that you must talk to a real doctor and not a chatbot when having a consultation.

HIPAA Compliance

Most people are wary of online clinics primarily because of the risk of compromising their personal information. But, you can ensure whether your information will stay safe or not by checking the HIPAA compliant certificate of the clinic. This ensures that the clinic strictly complies with the government privacy protocols and will keep your information safe from any third party.

Verified Address

An online clinic must have a real, physical location that is verified. Even though they provide online consultations, a physical location ensures that the clinic has the experience of providing 420 evaluations and that the doctors are practicing from a real clinic.

24×7 Customer Service

An ethical and reliable online clinic will offer a 24×7 customer service to let its patients connect with them whenever they have a query. It’s definitely a major indicator that a clinic offers reliable services.

Steer Clear From ‘Quick’ or ‘Cheap’ Services

Most online scams advertise quick and cheap 420 evaluations. Words like instant and cheap are generally used to attract people. Don’t go around thinking that it’s a great deal.

Look for the factors we’ve discussed above before choosing a clinic. Once you think that all the boxes are checked, go ahead and get your 420 evaluations online in New Jersey.

Cannabis for Alcohol Addiction: Can a 420 Card Help?

Medical cannabis has proven to be effective in alleviating symptoms of several health conditions. Apart from all its therapeutic benefits, it is consumed by people for a wide array of reasons. A recent study supports the idea of using cannabis to reduce the consumption of alcohol. That means if a person is looking for alcohol cessation, probably getting a 420 card to access medical cannabis can be useful.

It is true that cannabis is popularly used by people who drink alcohol. But anecdotal evidence and certain recent studies suggest a nuanced relationship between the two. There has been much debate regarding the acceptability of medical cannabis use by people struggling with substance abuse. While the effects are different for everyone, a new study suggests that cannabis use could decrease alcohol consumption. Let’s learn more about this study.

What Recent Study Says

Published on January 19, 2021 in the Addiction Journal, the study aimed to test the effects of marijuana use on alcohol consumption on a given day among volunteers. The results were further compared between genders and individuals according to their frequency of cannabis use.

The study analysed 182 individuals out of whom 96 were cannabis consuming subjects. It monitored their cannabis use on total drinks consumed. Across the sample of 96 individuals, the consumption of alcohol was reduced by 29% and they were about 2 times less likely to have a binge-drinking episode on the day they consumed cannabis than when cannabis was not used.

To get things into perspective, the research found that the days when individuals consumed cannabis, they consumed less alcohol. On the contrary lawmakers and lobbyists within the government have labeled cannabis as a gateway drug. Studies like this prove that this notion of medical marijuana influencing people to use harder drugs needs to be revisited.

How a Shift to Medical Marijuana Can Reduce Dependence on Alcohol?

People drink alcohol to get high, so the transition to consuming marijuana for the same is pretty easy. The shift is not only smooth but also proves to be significantly cheaper in the long run. In case you are a chronic alcoholic, there is conclusive evidence that cannabis can help you in recovery. A study published in the Journal of Neuroscience in 2014 discussed the same. It suggested that cannabinoids behave like neuroprotective shields. That means the cannabinoids help prevent brain damage that a patient may sustain during withdrawal. And not just that, cannabis can help ease alcohol cravings. So, if you are taking alcohol treatment, cannabis can help you achieve sobriety and reduce your struggle during recovery.
